Drilling rig, “SMFM” type. Modernized by Fabryka Maszyn „Glinik” (a local mining machinery factory), drilling rig “SM4”; intended for percussive (impact) linetype drilling of boreholes to a depth of 800 m and 5” in diameter. Like drilling rig „SM4”, it is made entirely of steel. Its modernization consisted in addition of a 2-gear transmission box to change the speed of the main shaft. A new coupling (clutch) was introduced to operate 3 rope drums by Gall’s chains. The driller’s workstation has manual and pedal levers to control drilling operations. Below the drill framework there is a crankshaft with a „jerk” disk fixed on it, driven by a flat belt from the main shaft. The cranks have 3 openings to adjust the lift (stroke/travel) of the drill bit to 460, 700 and 1 000 mm. A sprocket wheel to drive the rotary table was mounted on the pulley block drum shaft. The drilling rig features a two-pole mast, type MM (Mieczysław Mrazek).
