35. Geophysics.

Geophysics equipment dating back from the 1980s. From 1954 a seismic reflection method was used in exploration geophysics. The instruments and apparatus from the USA, the USSR and DDR were used. From 1965 the apparatus with magnetic recording was introduced. In 1973 they began to use the French equipment with digital recording and since 1974 the measurements and logging have been carried out by apparatus of the world’s highest standard.

Drilling rig, „URB” type. This type of a drilling rig was used for rotary drilling of small and shallow (up to 30 m) blast holes to induce elastic seismic waves, using dynamite in seismic surveys to research down through the geologic structure of rocks. It is a mobile drilling rig manufactured in the USSR, installed on a truck chassis with a fixed mast, rotary table and a mud system, driven by the truck engine; the unit was released for operation in October 1955. Until that date the drilling of wells for seismic research purposes was carried out by manual equipment.
