Distillation column plates.

Plates of different cap designs (trough, bell), are installed inside the distillation column in an amount determined by the needs of the technological process.

Plates caps of the distillation column increase the liquid-vapour contact surface and provide the vapour flows upwards and the liquid flows downwards. Distillation columns operate in a countercurrent arrangement, so that the vapours of the distilled mixture are in constant contact with the condensed liquid.
