Refinery Sector: “Nafta” Crude Oil Refinery in Drohobych.

The refinery belonged to the “Nafta” Joint-Stock Company, part of the “Premier” Oil Group, and later the “Małopolska” Company. It operated an atmospheric pot still with a rectification tower for gasoline and a vacuum still. It was modernized in 1904. Between 1920 and 1927, it built its own power plant. In addition to the pot still distillation department, the refinery had an acid refining department for kerosene and oils and a paraffin plant. In 1925-1926, the company extracted 70,840 tons of crude oil per year and processed 38,450 tons of crude oil during that period. The “Nafta” refinery’s processing capacity was 42,000 tons of crude oil per year. It produced gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuel, lubricating oil, asphalt, paraffin, and coke. The refinery was destroyed during World War II.
