Refinery Sector: Natural Gas Refinery in Lviv.

Built in 1896 as the first refinery in Lviv, it belonged to Landsberg, Baron, Wahl, and Company. It was a medium-sized refinery. In 1920, it became the property of the Joint-Stock Company for the Oil and Natural Gas Industry, based in Lviv. In 1926, the company processed 11,550 tons of crude oil. In the early years of the interwar period, the refinery built a single-tower distillation plant capable of operating at atmospheric pressure and vacuum. It was designed to process low-paraffin crude oil, from which it produced cylinder oils. It was bombed by the German Air Force in September 1939.
