Educational offer

Apart from scientific, research and publishing activities, museum in Bóbrka conducts also many educational activities. The offer of museum classes is addressed to kindergarten, primary school and middle school students. Museum classes take place in one of the rooms in the Museum and they last approximately 40-60 minutes.

During classes children can see and touch many exhibits. We want to attract the interest of children and young people as well as teach and encourage them to get familiar with the history of the oil industry.

The cost of the lesson is PLN 40 per group, whereby one group cannot exceed 40 persons. How was the kerosene lamp invented? The history of lighting.

The lesson is addressed to children from kindergartens and primary schools. It has a form of a lecture combined with multimedia presentation and a direct presentation of selected exhibits. At the end of the classes children will make their own kerosene lamps out of paper. Lesson duration is 60 minutes, it costs PLN 40, the presence of a teacher-caretaker is obligatory.Up to 40 persons.

Ignacy Łukasiewicz – the founder of the oil industry.

The lesson is addressed to children from primary schools and middle schools. It has a form of a lecture. At the end of the classes they solve a crossword about Ignacy Łukasiewicz and the oil field in Bóbrka. Lesson duration is 45 minutes. It costs PLN 40, the presence of a teacher-caretaker is obligatory. Up to 40 persons.

Geology – Earth science. Looking for gas in the rocks.

The lesson is addressed to children from primary schools and middle schools. It is divided into two parts – the first one takes place in the audiovisual room, it is a form of a lecture combined with multimedia show and a presentation of samples of various rocks. The second part of the lesson is a multimedia show about natural gas. Lesson duration is 60 minutes. It costs PLN 40. The presence of a teacher-caretaker is obligatory. Up to 40 persons.

Ignacy Łukasiewicz, Tytus Trzecieski, Karol Klobassa-Zrencki – the forerunners of the oil industry.

The lesson is addressed to children from primary schools and middle schools. The classes are designed to familiarise children with three forerunners of the oil industry and the founders of the oil field in Bóbrka. Lesson duration is approximately 40 minutes. It costs PLN 40, the presence of a teacher-caretaker is obligatory. Up to 40 persons.

The beginnings of Polish kerosene in Carpathian Mountains. The history of oil drilling.

The lesson is addressed to middle school students. The classes are conducted in one of museum rooms. During the lesson students get to know in practice three drilling technologies presented on the example of selected exhibits. As a summary of the classes for younger students, a crossword on the subject of history and oil drilling techniques will be prepared. Lesson duration is 60 minutes. It costs PLN 40, the presence of a teacher-caretaker is obligatory. Up to 40 persons.

Kerosene folklore as a specific professional folklore. Customs and traditions related to kerosene.

The lesson is addressed to children from kindergartens and primary schools. The classes are designed to familiarise children with history, tradition and customs related to a profession of a miner – a kerosene specialist. During the last stage of the lesson children from kindergarten or primary school will take part in practical classes to make a miner’s hat. Lesson duration is 60 minutes. It costs PLN 40. The presence of a teacher-caretaker is obligatory. Up to 40 persons.

What is crude oil?

The lesson is addressed to children from primary and middle schools. A lecture and multimedia presentation on the subject of the origin of crude oil, its chemical composition and use. The lesson is combined with a presentation of samples of crude oil from various boreholes. Practical classes in the form of chemical experiments. Lesson duration is 40 minutes. It costs PLN 40. The presence of a teacher is obligatory. Up to 40 persons.

Crude oil processing.

The lesson is addressed to primary and middle school students. A lecture and multimedia presentation on the subject of the whole journey of crude oil – from its extraction through distillation to final products. A description of basic refining processes. Lesson duration is 40 minutes. It costs PLN 40. The presence of a teacher is obligatory. Up to 40 persons.

„A walk in Łukasiewicz’s company”

We invite primary school students to an intriguing museum lesson. It will be an alternative form of visiting museum, that is a „Walk in Łukasiewicz’s company” along our museum trails. We will be solving riddles and rebuses wandering the museum. Each participant will get a PRIZE in the form of a hidden treasure. The cost of the lesson is PLN 40. An entry ticket costs PLN 7,00. Lesson duration is 90 minutes. The presence of a teacher-caretaker during field classes is obligatory. Up to 40 persons
